Tunnel Maintainer Job Description

As a Tunnel Maintainer with the Pennsylvania State Government, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the state's tunnel infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine, planned, and emergency maintenance of tunnels and portal buildings
  • Respond to incidents affecting traffic flow and perform incident management duties
  • Operate tunnel washing equipment and perform towing duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations
  • Knowledge of tunnel maintenance and repair procedures
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery

Working Conditions:

Tunnel Maintainers work in a variety of environments, including tunnels, portal buildings, and outdoor areas. The work can be physically demanding and requires the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
