At OpenArc, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our clients organization and contribute to their ongoing success.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems under the supervision of the electrical manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembling, testing, and troubleshooting motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other electrical equipment and systems.
  • Modifying electrical systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to program and troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Diagnosing cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Developing wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion and directing personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
  • Planning, directing, and recording periodic electrical testing, and recommending or initiating modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Overseeing new production installations and projects.
  • Identifying potential areas of product and process improvement; recommending and assisting with development of appropriate solutions.
  • Involved in the development of new methods to improve product quality and automation.

Requirements include:

  • Experience with AC and DC motor drive systems.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, 480V to 25Kv.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements.
  • Process control and automation experience.
  • Fluent in AutoCad. 2 to 5 years of experience with AutoCad required.
  • Experience in PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and networking.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to travel within western PA and surrounding area to perform field work and service customers.
