Position Overview: The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting clinical trials under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and clinical trials management. This entry-level position is essential in maintaining the integrity and quality of clinical studies while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of research participants.
  • Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support compliance monitoring and audits to enhance operational effectiveness and minimize risks.
  • Utilize nursing expertise to coordinate research activities, including scheduling visits and assisting with participant assessments.
  • Perform nursing procedures as outlined in study protocols and report any deviations or adverse events promptly.
  • Collaborate with the PI to develop recruitment strategies for potential study participants.
  • Assist in the enrollment process, including screening and data collection.
  • Maintain accurate records in source documents and manage study-related materials.
  • Support the regulatory team in maintaining essential documents for the trial.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including study participants and compliance offices.

Education and Professional Development:

Engage in ongoing training and development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in clinical research. Work closely with a mentor for guidance and attend relevant meetings for protocol training.

Quality Assurance:

Participate in quality control activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards in clinical trial conduct.

Supervision:

May oversee specific tasks performed by non-licensed clinical trial staff and provide constructive feedback to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Accredited nursing diploma required.
  • Proficiency in electronic health systems and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of GCP and relevant regulations.
  • Clinical trials research experience is preferred.
