Position Overview:

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Load Balancing Engineer to provide support for the Customs and Border Patrol Enterprise Network Architecture and Engineering Support Services (CBP ENAESS). This role is primarily based in Ashburn, VA, with opportunities for flexible remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

The Load Balancing Engineer will be tasked with:

  • Administering and maintaining Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM) systems to ensure peak performance of enterprise-level applications and projects.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or equivalent expertise.
  • Proficiency in developing and troubleshooting F5 iRules to optimize advanced routing and traffic management.
  • Experience in implementing and managing application load balancing using F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM solutions.
  • Knowledge of integrating identity access management solutions, including OKTA and Microsoft Active Directory, along with other identity technologies and cloud services.
  • Experience in deploying Multi-Factor Authentication standards across both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in network architecture and/or engineering.
  • Skills in analyzing load-balanced applications and conducting capacity planning to support migration from legacy systems to modernized environments and cloud infrastructures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of the CBP Background Investigation (BI) is preferred.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between USD $125,000 and USD $195,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on several individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
