Project Manager for Structural Engineering

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the full project lifecycle at our organization. The successful candidate will manage design, development, and project completion while ensuring quality control of engineering analyses prepared by team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive engineering analyses, including design and calculations.
  2. Perform field surveys to collect necessary data.
  3. Generate detailed field reports.
  4. Prepare and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts.
  5. Oversee the construction document printing process.
  6. Independently resolve project-related issues, seeking review for complex matters.
  7. Critically assess proposed changes to engineering standards and policies.
  8. Evaluate development plans for adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
  9. Align design efforts with client requirements.
  10. Conduct quality control on projects managed by junior team members.
  11. Review contracts and project scopes for assigned projects.
  12. Incorporate feedback from supervisors into future project work.
  13. Ensure timely delivery of projects within established deadlines.
  14. Address feedback from supervisors, clients, or external reviewers.
  15. Manage multiple projects and client relationships concurrently.
  16. Supervise daily activities of junior engineering and CAD staff.
  17. Review project progress and provide financial assessments.
  18. Select and customize standard details for projects.
  19. Maintain quality control procedures within the team.
  20. Conduct construction administration for complex projects and manage client interactions during construction.
  21. Develop and suggest new standard details for projects.
  22. Identify additional service requests and collaborate with senior management on proposals.
  23. Coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, along with 4-8 years of experience in structural design. An EIT license is required, or alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of design experience specifically in cold-formed steel.
