Job Summary

You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Supervisor I in the Department of the Navy, working at various shipyards including Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

As a supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanics in troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and installing marine engines and other equipment. You will also coordinate with contractor technical representative personnel and provide direction to workers by assigning tasks, ensuring proper work methods, and providing necessary plans, blueprints, materials, and tools.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine machinery and equipment maintenance, with experience in supervising a team and ensuring high-quality work products. You will also be responsible for actively supporting and promoting all aspects of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct personnel in troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and installing marine engines and other equipment
  • Coordinate with contractor technical representative personnel
  • Provide direction to workers by assigning tasks, ensuring proper work methods, and providing necessary plans, blueprints, materials, and tools
  • Determine performance of a satisfactory amount and quality of work and review products for acceptability
  • Actively support and promote all aspects of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program
