Job Summary

You will serve as a Nuclear Mechanical and Structural Systems Inspector Supervisor I in the Nuclear Inspection Division, Quality Assurance Office of United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising Federal Wage System inspection programs and ensuring the quality of mechanical and structural systems in nuclear reactor plants.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise nonsupervisory inspectors of mechanical, piping, and structural systems of the nuclear reactor plant.
  • Perform mechanical and structural processes, product and test inspections on assigned refueling and overhaul work.
  • Define quality standards and oversee work while in progress and upon completion.
  • Ensure that subordinates observe regulations and rules on maintaining a collaborative and professional work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Branch Head.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Lead Or Supervise Performing inspections as a nuclear mechanical and structural systems inspector. Leading, mentoring, and training subordinate inspectors while using collaborative skills and promoting diversity. Coordinating priorities and deadlines with numerous project and production personnel to maximize efficient use of resources while meeting the needs of the shipyard. Explaining technical subjects and being familiar with the mechanical systems associated with naval nuclear reactor plants. Identifying and resolving problems in addition to proposing solutions to unusual or complex problems.
