Medical Examiner for Veterans
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner to join our team at MRG Exams. As a Medical Examiner, you will play a critical role in performing medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
In this position, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and conduct a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran. You will then electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal.
It is essential to note that as a Medical Examiner, you will NOT make disability determinations. The United States Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations.
This role ONLY performs Disability Assessments on Veterans. You will NOT treat, and you will NOT prescribe medication in this position.
The typical day involves examining 3-5 Veterans per day, allowing you to build strong relationships with each individual and make a meaningful impact on their lives.
Our ideal candidate is interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments, able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions. They should be skilled in time management, able to stay on task, and meet requirements. A current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license is also required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $ 90,000 - $110,000 per year, which is commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide training and continued support, health insurance options, a computer supplied, and a clinical setting for work.
You will find it rewarding to serve the veteran community, working a set schedule during normal business hours, and never being on call. If you're passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
