SECTIONAL CARE LEVEL II - POSITION DETAILS

The sectional department is tasked with the maintenance and care of plants within a designated area of our production yard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage weed control, remove unwanted growth, and organize stock within assigned areas.
  • Ensure proper setup and functionality of the irrigation system to prevent over or under watering.
  • Identify and address any plant health issues.
  • Coordinate with inventory staff regarding plant movements and report any health concerns.
  • Engage with the yard manager to discuss daily and weekly objectives.
  • Safely operate ladders ranging from 8 to 14 feet in height.
  • Utilize ladders for securing and supporting tree stakes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery grounds to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Provide general care for nursery stock, ensuring plants are adequately watered and handled with care.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in other nursery departments as required.
  • Be adaptable to changes in duties as directed by management.

Job Specifications:

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven surfaces, requiring extensive walking, bending, twisting, and climbing. Lifting requirements include:

  • Up to 75 lbs. frequently.
  • Up to 100 lbs. occasionally (team lifting techniques will be employed as necessary).

Hand Movement:

Involves gross grasping for handling plant materials and dexterous use of hands and fingers for various tasks.
