Position: Sectional Care Level II
The sectional department is tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of designated areas within the production yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weed removal, sucker elimination, and stock consolidation within assigned areas.
- Ensure proper setup of the irrigation system to prevent over or under-watering.
- Identify and report any plant health issues.
- Coordinate with inventory staff regarding plant movements and report poor plant health.
- Engage with the yard manager on daily and weekly responsibilities.
- Safely operate ladders ranging from 8 to 14 feet.
- Climb ladders to secure and stake trees.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery grounds to ensure safety for all.
- Care for nursery stock, ensuring proper watering and handling.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in other nursery departments as required.
- Responsibilities may change at management's discretion.
Job Specifications:
This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions on uneven surfaces, requiring extensive walking, bending, twisting, and climbing. Lifting requirements include:
- Up to 75 lbs. frequently.
- Up to 100 lbs. occasionally (team lifting techniques will be employed as necessary).
Hand Movement:
Involves gross grasping for moving plant materials and fine motor skills for handling and feeling.
