POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Child Welfare Specialist is responsible for receiving and evaluating reports concerning suspected abuse and neglect of minors. This role involves conducting thorough investigations and formulating strategies to implement necessary changes that ensure the safety, stability, and growth of children and adolescents, while also promoting the fulfillment of case plan objectives within designated timelines. This may involve legal proceedings when necessary.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will possess substantial practical experience as outlined in the position description and demonstrate these competencies consistently across various environments. You should also have the confidence to mentor, advise, and guide colleagues in applying these skills in their roles.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant social work experience.
  • A current and valid professional membership.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card upon relocating to Victoria.
