Position Overview
Stantec is seeking an experienced NEPA Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing various environmental planning and permitting projects across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the NEPA planning process, ensuring all project aspects are meticulously managed, including client interactions, budget oversight, scheduling, and personnel management.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and local governments to facilitate project success.
- Organize and lead technical studies and ecological resource assessments, ensuring thorough evaluations of natural resources.
- Prepare comprehensive NEPA documentation, including Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Categorical Exclusions (CEs).
- Assist in proposal development and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of environmental impact analysis methods and NEPA regulations.
- Strong team player with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects effectively, with a focus on overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with NEPA processes for federal, state, and local agencies is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related environmental field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in NEPA analysis and permitting.
