About the Position

The Patient Access Coordinator is a vital role at Affinity Health Partners LLC, serving as the first point of contact for patients and creating their initial impression of our services.

This position involves guiding patients through the admissions process by screening them for eligibility, preparing patient information for clinical staff, and addressing their queries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming and checking in patients when they arrive for medical services, ensuring a smooth experience.
  • Accurately documenting insurance information, personal details, payment methods, and other essential patient data.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient files and appointment information.
  • Communicating critical details to other healthcare professionals.
  • Efficiently processing co-payments from patients.
  • Ensuring the reception and patient waiting areas remain clean and organized.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong customer service skills for handling patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to maintain confidentiality and orderliness of patient information.
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities, handle interruptions, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Compassion and empathy for supporting patients and caregivers in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits and related policies.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a patient access representative, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, occasionally high-stress environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software applications.
Education and Experience:

Patient access representatives must hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Computer and typing skills, along with knowledge of the healthcare industry, are beneficial.

Physical Demands:

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
