Job Summary

As a Traffic Manager at Sonic Automotive, you will be responsible for responding to internet and phone inquiries, ensuring the dealership maximizes its profit potential on phone and internet sales. This role requires effective communication with customers and prospects, thorough knowledge of dealership products and services, and a strong understanding of internet sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to internet and phone inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate effectively with customers and prospects to satisfy their transportation needs
  • Sell/lease and deliver a minimum of 10 units per month
  • Stay up-to-date on all dealership products and services
  • Understand the psychology of internet customers and work with them to draw them into the dealership for proper vehicle demonstration and to close the transaction
  • Assist guests in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their needs
  • Check emails frequently and respond to inquiries immediately
  • Deliver messages intended for other departments promptly
  • Handle all internet sales inquiries personally
  • Coordinate internet promotions
  • Ensure the website address and phone number are prominently displayed throughout the dealership
  • Research auto-buying services on the internet and act as a liaison with any services the dealership uses to promote its site or advertise
  • Work with the webmaster to update the website frequently to attract new and repeat visitors
  • Take photos of dealership inventory for use on the dealership site
  • Maintain an ongoing customer database to capture repeat business
  • Exhibit a high level of commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Know and understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales
  • Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals
  • Attend product and sales training courses as requested by the sales manager
  • Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to guests
  • Attend sales meetings
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Realize the company's business is built on guest satisfaction and devote oneself to guaranteeing satisfaction to guests
  • Determine management, production, and quality requirements by asking questions and listening
  • Attend Sonic meetings as requested
  • Maintain a follow-up system that encourages follow-through with assigned projects
  • Report to the sales manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses
  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively
  • Understand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in the product
  • Follow directions from a supervisor
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive criticism
  • Interact well with others and be a positive influence on associate morale
  • Must sign voluntarily the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement and be faithful to its provisions
