The District of Columbia International School (DCI) is a vibrant public charter institution dedicated to serving a diverse student body of over 1600 learners in grades 6-12. Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Restorative Specialist to join our team. This role involves utilizing restorative methodologies to engage with students, fostering their personal growth and addressing their challenges collaboratively.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $37,800 - $51,450, with starting salaries based on educational background and relevant experience.
Qualifications:
- Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish;
- Proven experience working effectively with at-risk youth;
- Background in restorative practices for students facing emotional and behavioral challenges;
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and a Google/Mac operating environment;
- High School Diploma with some college coursework; and
- A minimum of two years of experience working with youth in the District of Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Fostering a supportive and professional environment that respects both students and staff;
- De-escalating situations involving students in crisis;
- Investigating and addressing student concerns and issues;
- Guiding students in understanding expectations regarding technology use;
- Collaborating with the administrative team to uphold student accountability;
- Maintaining open lines of communication with students, educators, and families;
- Assisting the Dean of Students with behavior tracking, arrival and dismissal procedures, and various duties throughout the school day;
- Communicating professionally with parents, students, and staff in Spanish, French, or Chinese, as well as English;
- Promoting cultural engagement by leading and participating in activities that celebrate French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures;
- Committing to environmentally sustainable practices;
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
