Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Restorative Specialist to join our team. This role involves utilizing restorative methodologies to engage with students, fostering their personal growth and addressing their challenges collaboratively.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $37,800 - $51,450, with starting salaries based on educational background and relevant experience.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish;
  • Proven experience working effectively with at-risk youth;
  • Background in restorative practices for students facing emotional and behavioral challenges;
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and a Google/Mac operating environment;
  • High School Diploma with some college coursework; and
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with youth in the District of Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • De-escalating situations involving students in crisis;

  • Collaborating with the administrative team to uphold student accountability;
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with students, educators, and families;
  • Assisting the Dean of Students with behavior tracking, arrival and dismissal procedures, and various duties throughout the school day;
  • Communicating professionally with parents, students, and staff in Spanish, French, or Chinese, as well as English;
  • Promoting cultural engagement by leading and participating in activities that celebrate French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures;
  • Committing to environmentally sustainable practices;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
