Specialty Practice Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Practice Manager to join our team at Friendship Hospital for Animals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of our specialty division, while championing the values of our organization and building positive team morale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the administrative operations of the specialty division, including employee engagement and retention, planning and executing a positive pet owner experience, and maintaining ideal inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues, including staff members, Medical Directors, and other PMs, to ensure seamless communication and execution of organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute plans to ensure the ongoing development and retention of high-performing staff members.
  • Proactively address staff performance issues, while seeking to coach them to a positive outcome, and partner with HR as needed.
  • Make a significant impact on meeting or exceeding financial goals for the practice, while pivoting as needed to enhance client service and improve results.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and other departments to support items such as payroll processing, recruitment, benefits administration, and others.
  • Embrace professional development opportunities, including attending leadership meetings and translating that learning at hospital level.
  • Oversee the maintenance of controlled substance, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and laboratory logs as required by state and federal regulations within the specialty division.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of leading multidisciplinary specialty veterinary medicine required.
  • Must have comfort working in an environment with animals and sensitivity to the needs of pet owners.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with the ability to introduce and role model strong service standards for all types of client interactions.
  • Proficient computer and software skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office management systems and software.
  • Proven track record of organization and ability to lead administrative workflows.
  • Ability to develop and lead initiatives for the specialty division of the hospital.
  • Ability to collaborate with other divisions within the hospital to execute organizational-wide decisions.
  • Must show a commitment to professional development and continual improvement.
  • Inspirational leadership characteristics, proven ability to coach and enable team development.
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
