As a vital member of the senior management team and reporting directly to the company's president, this role collaborates closely with Human Resources and the Board to evaluate and mitigate legal risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect the organization’s interests while fostering ethical practices and maintaining legal standards.

What You'll Do
  • Legal Advisory and Strategy: Offer expert legal counsel and direction to senior management while overseeing the daily legal operations across the organization, covering areas such as data privacy, governance, international law, finance, taxation, litigation, intellectual property, and employment law.
  • Contract Oversight: Evaluate, negotiate, and draft contracts and legal documents to safeguard the organization’s interests and ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Board Communication: Prepare and deliver regular updates to the Board of Directors regarding legal and compliance issues, including regulatory changes, compliance initiatives, litigation updates, and risk evaluations. Ensure that complex legal matters are presented clearly, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Compliance Management: Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive compliance framework to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes developing compliance protocols, monitoring regulatory changes, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and education.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and external legal advisors. Stay informed about regulatory developments to ensure the organization’s compliance with all relevant laws.
  • Corporate Governance: Manage corporate governance issues, including board meetings, corporate filings, and compliance with governance best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify legal and compliance risks facing the organization and devise strategies to mitigate these risks, which may involve conducting internal investigations and implementing controls.
  • Ethics Promotion: Foster a culture of ethics and integrity within the organization by providing training and support to employees at all levels.
  • Litigation Oversight: Oversee any legal disputes or litigation involving the organization, including selecting and collaborating with external counsel and representing the organization’s interests in legal proceedings.
Who You Are
  • Over 20 years of experience in legal practice, with significant experience at senior management and board levels.
  • Proven experience in managing complex legal issues and providing strategic legal advice to executive leadership.
  • Experience in dispute resolution and litigation relevant to the core business.
  • Background in leading legal teams and managing multiple legal functions.
  • Prior experience at a top-tier law firm.
