Your Responsibilities:
Provide independent engineering and technological assessments, guidance, and oversight to effectively prepare and execute approved projects in collaboration with the global process development team and local departments (R&D, engineering, and operations).
This encompasses modeling, design, scale-up, and optimization of processes and equipment; planning, construction, and supervision of tests and pilot plants; technology development, techno-economic evaluation, and scale-up of new processes; collaboration in and management of innovation projects; as well as technology studies and cost estimations (CAPEX, OPEX).
Identify, evaluate, and propose advanced technological solutions for organizational improvements.Conduct market research and investigations for potential technologies, equipment, materials, etc., to lead proof-of-concept assessments.
Establish and develop a network of potential technological suppliers or collaboration partners to support future opportunities.
Qualifications:
A B.S. in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline is required; an M.S. or Ph.D. in a technical engineering field is preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience is preferred, with consideration given to education and experience.
Willingness to travel as necessary, potentially up to 40%, including international travel.
Proficiency in the German language (spoken and written) is advantageous.
Ability to conduct initial onboarding/training in Germany for a period of 1-3 months.
Demonstrated strong technical engineering skills with the ability to take ownership and effectively lead investigation and innovation projects to successful completion in an efficient manner.
Engage in pre- and basic engineering of projects developing new equipment or prototypes, automation testing, and proof-of-concept development and testing leading to production.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for successful interaction within the global and local matrix organization, various departments, and external partners.
An inquisitive and innovative mindset is required, with a willingness to independently research and learn beyond current experience to support ongoing or potential projects.
Knowledge or experience in hyper-pure polysilicon production processes, semiconductor manufacturing, or other industries with high product quality standards is highly desirable.
Proven skills in modeling and simulation of (bio-)chemical processes and equipment, along with knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, standards, and codes.Experience working with various technical engineering disciplines is highly preferred.
