About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at Oracle. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Cassandra/Oracle NoSQL clusters in a multi-data center setup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Cassandra/Oracle NoSQL clusters in a multi-data center setup
  • Develop testing framework to deploy and maintain Cassandra/Oracle NoSQL clusters
  • Document process and building playbooks to be used by other teams
  • Work with internal teams to configure and improve performance
  • Implement Cassandra/Oracle NoSQL standards and best practices

Requirements:

  • B.S. or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience deploying and maintaining NoSQL cluster
  • Familiarity with tools and process for Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and SaltStack
  • Comfortable analyzing complex problems at all levels of the stack, on both client and server (OS, Network, JVM, Storage)
  • Java/Python experience is a plus
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience is a plus
  • Passion for testing and high-quality code
  • Strong communication skills. You should be able to convey technical detail in clear and simple terms to a variety of audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills. You will need to analyze, diagnose, and resolve unexpected behavior in complex, distributed systems
  • Experience building, testing, and maintaining cloud systems written in Java or Python (or other scripting language)
  • Interest and enthusiasm for new technologies that can be applied to large-scale cloud systems
