Overview

Role Summary
Every employee at CDC contributes to public health emergency management, whether through temporary assignments or by supporting ongoing programs while colleagues are engaged in emergency responses.

Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Coordinator, your duties will include:

  • Providing technical and administrative support to HR specialists and supervisory officials in relation to position classification programs.
  • Researching and summarizing information from classification standards and position descriptions; preparing justifications and recommendations for classification actions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of desk audits and maintaining master position description files.
  • Supporting recruitment and placement initiatives by developing vacancy announcements and screening applications for eligibility.
  • Preparing certificates for qualified candidates and conducting qualifications analysis for lower-grade positions.
  • Processing personnel actions and preparing pre-appointment packages for new hires.

Conditions of Employment
Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Background checks may be required, and security clearance levels may vary. Participation in the USCIS Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) is mandatory.

Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-07 grade level, candidates must possess:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, including experience with coding and processing HR actions.
  • Alternatively, one full year of graduate-level education in a relevant field.
  • A combination of specialized experience and graduate education that meets the qualification requirements.

Additional Information
This position is eligible for telework options and may include flexible work scheduling. Candidates may be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report to identify potential conflicts of interest.

CDC maintains a drug-free workplace and may require drug testing as part of the hiring process.
