Job Summary

Duke University is seeking a highly skilled Grants and Contracts Administrator to join its Campus Grants Management Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing an assigned portfolio of complex grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit grants and contracts through the pre-award process, ensuring compliance with sponsor and Duke regulations.
  • Advise faculty and principal investigators on administrative requirements for proposal submissions, including budget development and justification.
  • Manage budget, reporting, and compliance timelines throughout the lifecycle of grants and contracts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure effective grant and contract management.
  • Develop and implement project management plans to ensure timely and efficient grant and contract administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to research administration or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient use of computers, including MS Office Suite and research administration software.
  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to sponsored research grants and contracts.
  • Experience with grant and contract management, including budget development and justification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a field related to research administration or a related field.
  • Research or grants education and/or certification.
  • Experience with Duke University policies and procedures relating to grant and contract activity.
