Job Title: Plant Manager

At Planet Forward, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising the manufacturing, safety, sanitation, shipping, and receiving functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage plant operations for warehouse, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Coordinate plant activities to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Identify and execute cost savings initiatives in compliance with corporate goals, including labor, shrink, overtime, cost of quality, purchased goods savings, etc.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new equipment, products, processes, and customers into the facility in accordance with corporate standards and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Create, implement, and train employees with proper SOPs.
  • Scheduling production and shipping preparation.
  • Ability to follow HACCP/SQF plans and GMPs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies and local city government.
  • Work with Distribution, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Team Recruitment and Team Building.
  • Weekly Scheduling of Employees.
  • Inventory of Raw and Finished Goods.
Requirements:
  • MUST have considerable knowledge of the food industry, industry methods, USDA regulations, and food safety/microbiological programs.
  • MUST be an exceptional problem solver who can anticipate the variable(s) chain reaction effect on production planning.
  • MUST be hands-on and technically proficient with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • SQF Practitioner.
