Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of plant sanitation, ensuring cleanliness meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise sanitation staff, providing training on proper sanitation procedures and safety protocols.
  • Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and implement improvements to enhance sanitation efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that sanitation processes align with production schedules and timely startups.
  • Address safety concerns in the work area, ensuring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and immediately report any quality or safety issues to relevant personnel.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with associates, promoting a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sanitation staff, fostering skill growth and compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Work with management to create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficiency in sanitation processes.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant sanitation laws, company standards, and OSHA safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in sanitation management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to direct staff and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to ensure workplace compliance.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of responding to inquiries and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company sanitation policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in food production sanitation with a focus on consumer food products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hazard Communication policies and safety training.
  • Proven track record in improving sanitation efficiencies and implementing best practices in a plant environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety and cleanliness.
