About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team at Covenant Health. As a key member of our Medical Staff Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our credentialing and privileging processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Credentialing and Privileging: Maintain and update credentialing data in our database and hard files, ensuring continuous currency of licensure, certifications, and insurance.
  • Application Processing: Coordinate with the System Credentialing Office in processing pre-applications, initial applications, and reappointments.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a liaison between the hospital and physicians/physician practices, providing necessary administrative support to Medical Staff departments, committees, and leadership.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintain current records of focused evaluations, including proctoring, chart reviews, and preceptor evaluations, and prepare monthly reports of recommendations from the MEC to the Governing Body.
  • Meeting Coordination: Coordinate call schedules for Medical Staff departments, prepare for, attend, and complete necessary follow-up for Medical Staff department meetings, Credentials and Medical Executive Committee meetings, and other Medical Staff meetings as requested.
  • Continuing Education and Accreditation: Assist with Medical Staff continuing education activities, ensure accreditation/licensure compliance of The Joint Commission and CMS Medical Staff Standards, and assist with ongoing survey readiness preparations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a directly-related field preferred.
  • Experience: Five (5) years experience in a healthcare environment with at least three (3) years experience in a Medical Staff office with credentialing responsibilities.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, experience with Visual Cactus desired; strong interpersonal and communications skills.
