Role Summary

Flagship Ventures is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomolecule Design Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models for sequence design. Your expertise in MLOps, model training, and deployment will be instrumental in advancing our therapeutic discovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models for Protein/RNA/DNA sequence design.
  • Implement MLOps practices to streamline the model development and deployment process.
  • Collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and software developers to integrate ML models into data pipelines.
  • Gather and preprocess public datasets with bioinformatics tools for model training.
  • Implement rigorous testing, documentation, and model benchmarking.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in computer science, computational biology, physics, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools, including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in at least one ML framework (PyTorch/TensorFlow/Jax) and the Python data science ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases for pre-processing and analyzing biological sequence data.
