Driller Assistant Job Opportunity

Ardaman & Associates, Inc., a leading geotechnical, materials testing, and environmental engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Driller Assistant to join our team in Tampa.

This entry-level position offers a chance to develop a career in test drilling and provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the crew chief in solid stem and hollow stem auger drilling techniques.
  • Help move, set up, and operate drilling rigs and related equipment.
  • Perform duties at multiple job sites, including site investigation and geotechnical drilling.
  • Expedite field supplies and perform yard duties as directed.
  • Measure test boring locations and load/unload trucks.
  • Connect/disconnect drill pipe and catch samples of drilled cuttings.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, and assist with well development and pumping tests.
  • Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water, and mud, and perform minor maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:
  • Experience preferred, but will train.
  • Mechanical skills preferred.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Class A or Class B CDL license a plus.
  • Ability to lift drill pipe and materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Pass company background checks, including drug screen.
  • Excellent driving record within company standards.
