Groundman/ Underground Directional Drilling Specialist

Job Summary

As a Groundman/Underground Directional Drilling Specialist at Dynetek Solutions LLC, you will be responsible for performing tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of electric underground cable. This includes setting up and cleaning up the work area before and after placing the material underground. You will work under general supervision and follow specific directions provided by the underground directional drill operator and the underground bore crew foreman.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attend and participate in all safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Dig pits and trenches manually or mechanically.
  • Perform site set-up and clean-up.
  • Restore and landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
  • Lay dirt, sand, grass seed, and straw as needed.
  • Refill holes, trenches, and compact soil to ensure it is packed down and even.
  • Place temporary asphalt patches or concrete on streets as needed.
  • Fill machines with diesel and grease machines as needed.
  • Clean vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment.
  • Safely and correctly direct multi-directional traffic with appropriate signage.
  • Safely identify utilities in the trench/bore path.
  • Use splice to connect pipe.
  • Hook up hoses to drilling machines.
  • Place hammers on drills.
  • Use dirt heads to pull back fiber optics and pipe.
  • Operate machines occasionally (requires experience).
  • Check equipment for safety.
  • Station equipment in safe areas.
  • Drive company trucks to job sites if necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Able to work outdoors in all types of weather and conditions.
  • Able to work with loud noises.
  • Able to lift and load workpieces or equipment of minimum 50 pounds in a daily basis.
  • Able to comply with job physical demands (e.g., standing, walking, driving, lifting, etc.).
  • Able to pass a pre-employment screening that includes background checks and drug testing.
  • Valid driver's license.
