We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Physician to join our team at McGovern Medical School. As a Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor, you will play a key role in providing direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care.
- Perform staff management functions, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and terminating assigned staff.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, support, and consultation to clinical managers, attending physicians, research personnel, colleagues, and clinical staff.
- Collaborate with UTHealth Houston and hospital administration to identify future opportunities and define the direction of department services.
- Maintain an ongoing departmental Quality Improvement Plan and process consistent with the organizational Quality Management Plan.
- Texas Medical License or eligibility for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology.
- Fellowship training in GI.
