Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery

Job Summary:
UTHealth Houston invites applications for a full-time, 1.0 FTE, Assistant or Associate Professor non-tenure clinical faculty position in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. The selected candidate will contribute to the department's mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, and administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and participate in clinical service, administrative, and provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
  • Participate in the Vascular Surgery practice in the Greater Houston area Memorial Hermann locations, including participation in a UT general Vascular Surgery physician group call team for coverage.
  • Collaborate with other Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery physicians who will join the practice.
  • Be involved in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of new or additional physicians to the group.
  • Provide feedback regarding office operations, including hiring staff, office logistics, and new physician recruitment.
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students and residents.
  • Support the research mission of the department and university through facilitating reasonable and appropriate access to patients by research staff, assisting with the collection of research data, and providing information and education on ongoing research studies to potentially eligible research subjects.

Qualifications:
The selected candidate must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement and minimum years of clinical experience or years post-residency statement.
