Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee the successful completion of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring quality, budget, and scheduling goals are met while maintaining a safe working environment.

The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and crew members, providing guidance and meeting deadlines, documenting daily activities, and planning for upcoming tasks. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with construction crew, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee carpenters and laborers by providing coaching, training, and setting clear expectations.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to carry out the vision and scope for each construction project.
  • Coordinate pre-construction setup, including posting signs, locating utilities, and arranging for necessary equipment.
  • Review plans, specifications, and schedules ahead of project launch and clearly communicate the plan to the construction crew.
  • Manage the day-to-day work on the jobsite, ensuring everything proceeds in orderly fashion and anticipating what is ahead.
  • Document daily activities and conditions on the job site and assume responsibility for the condition of the jobsite.
  • Communicate weekly with the Director of Operations to provide accurate information about manpower needs.
  • Provide feedback and support to carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure quality control, safety, and problem-solving.
  • Coordinate subcontracted resources to avoid delays and attend inspections.
  • Assist the Project Manager in handoff of completed projects.
  • Understand different trades, processes, and equipment used throughout the job.
  • Watch labor and material expenses and closely adhere to project budget.
  • Oversee work of crew members performing aspects of demolition, framing, hardware, general carpentry, and various equipment operation as needed on a per project basis.
  • Promote a safe working environment by implementing, maintaining, and overseeing OSHA safety regulations.
  • Attend site meetings with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead onsite construction huddles regularly to coordinate daily work priorities.
  • Responsible for maintaining any equipment, tools, and machines owned by the company.

Requirements

  • Proven work record as a Construction Superintendent (10 years preferred, 5 years required).
  • Competitive pay and benefits.
