Role Overview:
The Chief Operations Officer will oversee the formulation, coordination, execution, and assessment of all operational activities to achieve organizational objectives while ensuring compliance with corporate standards, policies, and procedures. This role is accountable for financial performance, regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and service excellence within their scope of responsibility. As a key representative of our corporate mission, the COO will engage with community leaders and charitable organizations to fulfill our commitment to community service and philanthropy. The COO will lead a business unit and directly manage departments including Human Resources, Food & Beverage, Gaming Operations, Sports Betting, and Information Technology, with the potential for additional departments as assigned by the Executive Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruit, inspire, train, mentor, and guide staff to ensure that team members receive the necessary leadership and resources to meet established goals.
2. Cultivate a supportive and motivating environment for all team members.
3. Set operational standards, guidelines, and objectives while managing administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing for efficient operations.
4. Serve as the ambassador for community service and charitable initiatives, overseeing the planning and execution of related goals.
5. Champion hospitality within the organization, driving innovation and developing measurable programs to enhance the hospitality culture across all locations.
6. Ensure that operational standards are consistently trained and monitored to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
7. Develop a comprehensive annual training and engagement plan for operational teams.
8. Review and approve plans for managing outputs, budget expenditures, labor efficiency, customer service, and capital investments.
9. Analyze performance against operational plans and standards, providing reports and recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
10. Present performance reports to senior management on a monthly basis.
11. Define and recommend objectives for each operational area.
12. Develop short-term and long-term strategic plans, along with budget requests and financial forecasts.
13. Review and approve cost control reports and forecasts related to workforce and facility requirements.
14. Collaborate with department leaders to establish and fulfill responsibilities.
15. Review and approve budgets for the business unit.
16. Evaluate and propose major projects impacting the functional areas of the business unit.
17. Provide orientation and on-the-job training for direct reports, ensuring clarity in duties and responsibilities.
18. Propose and implement programs and organizational plans that align with established goals.
19. Set objectives and procedures for assigned activities, issuing specific annual goals to immediate subordinates.
20. Identify training needs, promote subordinate development, and recommend effective personnel actions.
21. Keep employees informed about company and departmental plans and progress.
22. Consult with management across all segments responsible for policy or action.
23. Ensure compliance within the area of responsibility and recommend improvements for interdepartmental effectiveness.
24. Review and endorse budget proposals from direct reports, submitting budgets according to established procedures.
25. Keep the Executive Vice President informed of relevant activities.
26. Manage various projects, including new property development, to support the achievement of evolving company objectives.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
10-12 years of senior leadership experience is required, preferably in the gaming or hospitality sectors.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses to fulfill essential responsibilities.
Must meet or exceed all regulatory requirements for individuals in similar positions.
