Key Responsibilities:

Execute engineering tasks for bespoke design solutions. These tasks encompass (but are not limited to):

  • Analysis and evaluation of gear tooth configurations and ratings.
  • Assessment of shaft deflection.
  • Selection and analysis of bearing lifespan.
  • Design of lubrication systems.
  • Development of housing structures.
  • Layout planning for gear drives.
  • Documentation for assembly and testing procedures.
  • Review and sanction drawings from detail designers for production release.
  • Input requisition details for major raw materials into the BaaN system for procurement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for technical discussions (post-order) with clients and sales teams.
  • Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs).
  • Issue Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as necessary.
  • Assist shop/assembly teams when inquiries or issues arise.
  • Create detailed drawings when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in machine design (preferably in the gear sector).
  • Experience with 3-D modeling; proficiency in SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend machine schematics.
  • Familiarity with BaaN (ERP System) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Innovative thinker and adept problem solver.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Engagement in Health & Safety programs.
  • Capable of fulfilling the essential functions of the role with or without accommodation.
