Nashoba Brooks School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the overall management of the School's financial resources, with an operating budget of approximately $10M.
The Director of Finance will provide leadership and oversight of the day-to-day management of human resources and business functions of the School, including direct supervision of the Human Resources Specialist and Finance Assistant.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the School's financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Provide leadership and oversight of human resources and business functions, including recruitment, talent development, and benefits administration.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and financial planning policies.
- Collaborate with the Head of School and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the School's mission and goals.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including financial statements, budget reports, and other financial data.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure the School's financial well-being.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, laws, and best practices to ensure the School's compliance and competitiveness.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong background in financial management and leadership.
- 3+ years of management experience, preferably in an independent school or nonprofit environment.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial planning policies, procedures, and practices.
- Experience with accounting and payroll software programs.
- Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a fast-paced, high-performing team.
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail.
- Interest and ability to engage as an active member of a school community.
