Job Summary

The Texas Public Charter Schools Association is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as the Director of Regional Advocacy. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with public charter schools in the region, collaborating with charter schools to develop connections to policymakers, and building support for high-quality public charter schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a regional advocacy strategy to increase engagement and participation in advocacy efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with school leaders, advocacy leads, and other stakeholders in the region
  • Track and follow school events, social media, and other relevant sources to stay informed and provide support to policymakers
  • Present to charter school board members on the importance of advocacy, TPCSA's work, and the current political climate for charter schools
  • Collaborate with the Regional Team on assigned projects and initiatives
  • Work across teams to ensure that activists are incorporated into TPCSA's database and that other teams can capture and tell their stories in other contexts and mediums
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of previous experience leading or specializing in advocacy work, ideally with strong experience in Texas regional and/or state level politics
  • At least 5+ years of professional experience
