As the sole integrated Rare Earth mining and processing facility in the region, we play a crucial role in supplying essential materials that drive various industries, including clean energy and technology.

Role Summary:

The Senior Procurement Specialist is tasked with the acquisition and negotiation of materials, equipment, services, and supplies from various vendors. This role involves collaborating with different departments to assess goods and services, ensuring that the expectations of internal stakeholders are met, and resolving any disputes related to procurement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of procurement principles and will utilize their experience and judgment to achieve objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to corporate procurement policies and guidelines.
  • Sourcing: Assist in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives through market research, supplier identification, and negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms while upholding quality standards.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and engage potential suppliers, fostering robust relationships while negotiating advantageous terms and conditions.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, pricing variations, and geopolitical factors impacting the rare earth supply chain, proactively addressing potential disruptions.
  • Cost Management: Strive to minimize procurement costs through effective negotiation, supplier assessment, and cost analysis, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency enhancements.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with operational and quality teams to ensure that procured materials meet established standards and specifications.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards while identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as production, engineering, and finance to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Integrate sustainability and environmental considerations into procurement decisions, supporting the company’s commitment to responsible practices.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize procurement and supply chain technology tools to enhance process efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at improving procurement efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing supply chain effectiveness.
  • Ethical Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with ethical standards and legal requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with procurement software, particularly SAP, is highly desirable.
  • Background in industrial, mining, or chemical processing environments is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience (4 years) along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Specialized Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the rare earth market, including supply-demand dynamics and pricing trends.
  • Familiarity with mining industry regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Strong relationship management skills with suppliers, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Expertise in supply chain risk management.
  • Proficient in cost analysis and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Data analysis skills and experience with procurement tools for informed decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities for supplier contracts.
  • Project management skills for procurement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in SAP and related procurement processes.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000, with actual pay rates varying based on experience and qualifications.
