Role Summary
As the Communications Specialist at MoDOT & Patrol Employees' Retirement System, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our communication initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass the creation and execution of communication strategies and materials that align with our organizational objectives. You will oversee public branding, manage social media platforms, curate publications, and enhance website content, while also developing diverse communication channels to inform and engage our members.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee MPERS' public branding, ensuring cohesive messaging and a strong image.
- Generate, manage, and engage with content across social media platforms.
- Identify and create new avenues to educate and engage MPERS' members through various media.
- Maintain and update content on the MPERS website.
- Assist in the development of surveys, reports, and research to evaluate member satisfaction and educational requirements.
- Coordinate the creation and revision of educational materials, including workbooks, brochures, presentations, and webinars.
- Ensure all written communications are meticulously reviewed for grammatical accuracy, visual appeal, and professionalism.

- Innovative Thinking: Ability to conceptualize and develop creative content and solutions.
- Project Management Skills: Proficient in managing multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional Writing Ability: Capable of distilling complex concepts into clear, accessible language, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Social Media Proficiency: Experienced in managing social media channels and crafting engaging content.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with tools such as WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, GoToWebinar, and Email Marketing Software.
- Detail-Oriented: Highly attentive to detail and thorough in all tasks.
- Relevant Experience: Ideally, 3+ years in a similar role.
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Starting at $60,000 to $68,000, with opportunities for growth in responsibility and pay based on performance.
