Job Overview

The Easter Seal Society of Iowa is seeking dedicated Certified Medication Managers to support our health initiatives.

We are looking for individuals who can commit to flexible shifts, ideally working one shift per month.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols, including documentation, safe disposal of medical waste, and medication management.
  • Conduct inventory, organize, and administer medications received at the health center.
  • Assist in entering Medication Administration Records (MARS) into the database and communicate with guardians and caregivers.
  • Maintain organized cabin MARS and documentation binders.
  • Provide first aid support to campers and staff.
  • Ensure the health center is clean and orderly.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet care and supervision needs according to established protocols.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each camper's medication records, including effects and potential side effects.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Support team members in completing necessary documentation as per program protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification in an approved medication management course is required.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to accept supervision and work collaboratively with others.
  • Physical capability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift.
  • Ability to transfer or move a minimum of eighty pounds.
  • Must complete CPR (Adult and Child) and First Aid training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training must be completed within the first 30 days.
  • Must be able to administer medications safely in accordance with established policies.
  • Must be insurable under the organization's insurance policy.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary for regular participation in work activities.

The interview process includes an initial phone interview followed by a second interview with the team leader.
