Job Title: Senior Manager, State and Local Tax Compliance

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice at KPMG. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with multi-state companies to provide state and local income tax compliance services
  • Act as a subject matter expert in state income and franchise tax estimated payments
  • Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff
  • Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets
  • Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice
Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field of study from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or MTX, or other approved designations/credentials
  • Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
  • Ability to foster relationships both internally and with clients, and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Experience mentoring and counseling staff-level team members
  • Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills
