Overall Purpose:

The Senior Systems and Software Analyst plays a crucial role in leading and collaborating with product and project teams. This position involves assessing business and technical opportunities and challenges to effectively define and implement system configurations, integrations, and support mechanisms.

Location: Hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape technical product strategy and objectives by comprehending the business and technical landscape, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver impactful functionalities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key users, leadership, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate within the team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the product lifecycle and the interdependencies of systems and processes.
  • Achieve project and product objectives through teamwork and cross-team collaboration, clarifying tasks, timelines, and methodologies.
  • Maintain accountability for the successful delivery of projects led by the team, as well as providing leadership for team activities in larger projects.
  • Ensure effective tracking and communication of progress.
  • Guarantee product and system availability to meet business requirements, including participation in on-call support rotations, while applying lessons learned to enhance products and workflows.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to technical support, which is essential to the team's success, influencing and being influenced by the objectives and outcomes outlined above.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data networking, or a related field is required (equivalent experience or certifications will be considered).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required, including experience in both traditional (waterfall) and agile software delivery environments, as well as integration and implementation of vendor applications.
  • Certifications in relevant technical fields are preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate sound technical judgment under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Perl, Python, shell scripting, and Oracle/SQL Server databases is advantageous.
  • Experience in electric utility metering or billing is beneficial.

Scope:

This role primarily focuses on daily deliverables, outcomes, and reporting. The individual is typically responsible for managing their own time and workflow, with work activities ranging from moderate to complex, requiring the application of previous knowledge to perform effectively. While independent action is common, consultation with experts and managers may occur as needed.

Decision Impact:

Challenges faced in this role may be ambiguous, requiring reliance on past experiences for effective problem-solving. The individual is accountable for their reasoning and decision-making processes.

Hybrid Work Model:

This position adheres to a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with the remainder of the week working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may vary based on departmental needs.

Storm Roles:

All Non-Union Employees may be assigned storm roles appropriate to their skills and responsibilities. It is advisable to discuss potential storm roles with the hiring manager, as duties may vary across the organization.

Utilize data to inform business decisions as relevant to the position, support data stewardship initiatives, and collaborate with IT on data requirements.
