Columbus Technical College is in search of a qualified individual to take on the role of an Adjunct Instructor for the Paramedicine program. This position entails delivering instruction in classroom settings, laboratories, and clinical environments. The selected candidate will be tasked with assessing student progress towards educational objectives while ensuring compliance with all safety and security protocols during training sessions. Additional responsibilities include upholding program accreditation standards, preparing necessary documentation and administrative reports, participating in advisory committee meetings, and completing required staff development training annually. This is a part-time/exempt role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate EMS courses and guide students through diverse instructional methods.
  • Adhere to state regulations in crafting program and course outlines, along with establishing goals and objectives.
  • Assess students' advancement in achieving educational targets.
  • Request and manage instructional supplies and equipment.
  • Develop effective teaching strategies and maintain organizational procedures and documentation.
  • Engage with students, faculty, and fellow educators to discuss instructional programs and address any issues affecting student progress.
  • Ensure that safety and security measures are upheld in training environments.
  • Respond promptly to administrative inquiries.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with program accreditation standards as necessary.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess keen observation, supervision, and evaluation capabilities.
  • Have a general understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Participate in professional organizations and activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current licensure in Georgia as a Paramedic OR RN, RRT, NP, PA, or MD/DO.
  • Current licensure in Georgia as an Instructor/Coordinator (Paramedic).
  • Possession of an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited academic institution recognized by the United States Department of Education, in any major.
  • Current NREMT certification.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
  • Completion of all Teaching Internships for EMS Instructor/Coordinator requirements.
  • Completion of an approved EMS Instructional Preparation Curriculum Prep Course within the last three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in postsecondary teaching.
Salary/Benefits:

Compensation is based on education and experience. No benefits are provided.
