Job Title: Branch Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Branch Manager to join our team at Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc. in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our branch, ensuring the efficient and effective performance of personnel, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor financial performance and develop strategies to meet performance goals.
  • Manage staff by guiding, motivating, and disciplining employees as needed.
  • Plan and develop strategies for meeting customer needs and achieving business objectives.
  • Directly supervise Warehouse Manager and Returns department.
  • Communicate with Inside and Outside Sales Representatives regarding inventory and shipping issues.
  • Work with Human Resources department on employee matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate and regulatory directives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of experience within a shipping and receiving environment.
  • Minimum of three years of experience within the veterinary industry preferred.
  • Specialized warehouse management training of at least two years preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Ability to make quick decisions based on sound business logic.
Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Attention to detail critical to ensure accuracy and completion of objectives.
  • Regular interaction with people, team-player.
  • Fast pace of work requires multi-tasking.
  • Vision: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Repetitive motion: reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, balance, stand/walk on concrete floor for extended periods.
Equipment Used:

Windows-based computer, tape gun, safety knife, 2-way radio, safety equipment, markers, label equipment, packaging materials, ladders, box cutter, forklift, pallet jack, safety inspected vehicle, hand cart.

Work Environment:

Work will be performed indoors in a relatively temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold, or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Some travel is involved with participation in state veterinary conventions, the annual sales meeting, and quarterly regional meetings.
