Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and driving business growth. This leadership position requires a strong background in pharmacy operations, clinical services, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Experience:
    • Engage patients by providing empathetic consulting services and addressing their medication-related concerns.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with pharmacy staff to deliver a distinctive patient experience.
    • Connect with patients by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services.
  • Operations:
    • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
    • Refers patients to medical providers as needed to ensure medication is taken correctly and health needs are addressed.
    • Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
  • People & Performance Management:
    • Collaborate with Store Manager to establish expectations and goals, promote teamwork, and foster a shared vision.
    • Manage pharmacy staff performance by overseeing training, conducting formal performance reviews, and identifying high potential team members.
    • Address employee relations concerns and maintain team member morale by checking on employee welfare and addressing complaints and conflicts.
Requirements:
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
  • Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
  • At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance billing.
