Position Summary:
The Civil Construction Superintendent will oversee the field planning and management of bridge-related construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that work quality and material standards are maintained while adhering to project timelines and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to organize and plan project tasks.
  • Oversee labor and equipment time sheets, ensuring accurate daily reporting.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Manage the overall civil construction schedule effectively.
  • Monitor crew productivity and set daily performance goals.
  • Review monthly cost reports and initiate necessary field change requests.
  • Enforce quality control measures and adhere to safety policies on-site.
  • Ensure timely completion of work according to the project schedule.
  • Prepare and submit weekly accountability reports.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of pay parameters and specifications.
  • Provide a three-week look-ahead schedule to the General Superintendent.
  • Conduct daily briefings and safety talks with the crew.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis before new work activities.
  • Develop material handling strategies with Foremen.
  • Identify and report extra work or changes in conditions to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation of delivery receipts for field engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Construction preferred, but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil construction.
  • Experience in scheduling, field supervision, and quality control for bridge construction.
  • OSHA 10 certification is required.
