Position Summary

The Infrastructure Systems Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Infrastructure and Operations Team, delivering on-site support for physical servers, storage solutions, and network systems. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our global enterprise infrastructure. The Specialist will set performance objectives, oversee the server and network environment, and assess outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with plant technology to implement IT solutions that address business requirements.
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud services.
  • Work alongside the International Infrastructure team to support global initiatives.
  • Engage with site leadership to comprehend IT infrastructure needs.
  • Analyze trends in problem management and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Identify and automate manual support tasks to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the Project Management Office (PMO) for testing and delivery of technology solutions.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks as directed by project leadership.
  • Utilize the enterprise ticketing system to track work and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
  • Perform initial analysis and resolution of technical issues for various end users.
  • Support global asset tracking for infrastructure technologies.
  • Maintain vendor licensing for all supported components.
  • Develop standardized build images for server and network technologies.
  • Execute patching for operating systems and firmware as required.
  • Create and maintain training documentation for supported components.
  • Provide ongoing training to system engineers and administrators.
  • Offer after-hours support as necessary.
  • Supervise one employee as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • 4+ years in physical/virtual server, network, and backup technologies.
  • 4+ years with Windows server operating systems.
  • 4+ years in virtualized server technologies.
  • 3+ years with Cisco network technologies.
  • 2+ years in scripting and automating infrastructure.
  • 4+ years in patching and updating firmware.
  • 3+ years with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google.
  • 3+ years working with security teams on remediation efforts.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Able to convey technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of current technological trends in the industry.
  • Available for after-hours support as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4-year technical degree in computer science.
  • Office 365 experience or certification.
  • Linux experience.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods environments.
  • VMware or AHV certification.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven understanding of IT infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization technology.
  • Familiarity with network and SDWAN technologies.
  • Logical thinking and structured data presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective across all management levels.
