About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Excavation Senior Estimator to join our team in Manhattan, Montana. As a key member of our estimating process, you will play a pivotal role in managing bids, collaborating with project managers, and contributing to proposal development.

Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding: Prepare thorough and accurate cost estimates for excavation and earthwork projects, leveraging industry-standard software and tools.
  • Project Analysis: Analyze project specifications, requirements, and bid documents to accurately quantify costs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.
  • Site Visits and Assessments: Conduct site visits and assess site conditions to inform estimating processes and identify potential challenges or risks.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable materials.
  • Cost Management: Monitor project costs during construction to facilitate budget management and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an estimator in the excavation industry, preferably in the Gallatin Valley area of Montana.
  • Proven track record of successfully bidding on and estimating excavation projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Strong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite.
