The estimated salary for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The Senior Estimator and Project Manager will be responsible for providing participation and support to the Mechanical division's estimating efforts. This includes tracking project information, executing or leading teams in pursuing projects, and ensuring proposals address unique project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating Excellence: Instill a focus on technical understanding of work, incorporating logistics, schedule, means and methods, cost of work, crew structure, production history, subcontractor selection, and commercial understanding of proposals.
  • Capture Planning: Take an active role in Capture Planning key pursuits, focusing on Best Bid, Best Team, and Bid to Win components.
  • Win Work Strategy: Ensure incorporation of key Win Work and Capture Plan strategies into department proposals.
  • Subcontractor Management: Develop and maintain key subcontractor relationships to ensure teams have necessary vendors.
  • Subcontractor Selection: Develop tools to drive sufficient subcontractor coverage through prequalification programs, ITB processes, and Bid Leveling Systems.
  • Account Based Management: Work with Client Executives and Account Managers to align proposals with client expectations.
  • Systems Development: Develop and maintain systems and tools utilized by the department, including HCSS, Quotesoft, and Building Connected.
  • Improving Competitiveness: Develop processes, tools, and mindset to drive proposals reflecting clear cost understanding.
  • Processes Maintenance: Maintain Estimating Department Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and precision.
  • Historical Data and Production: Maintain, inform, and educate estimating teams on historical production rates and market pricing points.
  • Innovation: Promote new and innovative Estimating IT solutions, maintaining estimating staff with estimating IT intelligence.
  • Communication: Coordinate with Safety, Operations, Controls, Business Development/Marketing, and IT in all project pursuits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive Experience: In all aspects of Mechanical construction, with knowledge of MCAA Webem, QuoteSoft, HCSS, and Building Connected.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to understand cost drivers unique to our business and impact of complex contract payment terms.
  • Influential Leadership: Ability to interject knowledge and expertise into situations, assessing and addressing current and potential challenges.
  • Solutions-Oriented: Proactively assesses and addresses current and potential challenges.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate at all levels and secure resources to drive initiatives and implement strategies.
