We are looking for a proficient and seasoned Lighting Systems Engineer to enhance our innovative team at LANTANA LED. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of eight years of experience in the lighting sector, particularly with a focus on LED technology and cutting-edge manufacturing processes. This position will entail the design, development, and rigorous testing of lighting solutions to guarantee they adhere to the highest standards of performance and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • Innovate and create state-of-the-art lighting products, emphasizing both current and emerging LED technologies.
  • Develop comprehensive electro-mechanical designs, which include schematics, layouts, and 3D models.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to confirm that designs satisfy specification requirements and industry benchmarks.

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage various projects from initial concept through to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Delivery, third-party manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of LED lighting technology, thermal management, optics, and driver electronics.
  • Employ modern manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to foster innovation.

Testing and Validation:

  • Formulate and implement test plans to validate product performance and reliability.
  • Analyze test results and apply design enhancements based on insights.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant safety and performance standards.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, shop drawings, test reports, and user manuals.
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Mentorship and Leadership:

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and team members as the team expands.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the lighting industry, particularly with LED technology.
  • Strong comprehension of electro-mechanical systems and advanced manufacturing materials and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry and systems related to LED boards and lighting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Experience with Project Management software (e.g., Monday).
  • Familiarity with documentation management software (e.g., PDM).
  • Experience in thermal management, optics, and driver electronics for LED lighting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
