Delta-T Group is seeking a dedicated Shelter Advocate to join our team in Lowell, MA.

This position plays a vital role in providing essential support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness within a 24/7 shelter environment.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate positive relationships with residents and offer assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular rounds throughout the shelter to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
  • Contribute to meal preparation, serving, and cleanup during your assigned shift.
  • Respond effectively to resident crises involving medical, mental health, or interpersonal issues.
  • Complete assigned tasks diligently and maintain a clean and orderly shelter environment.
  • Monitor bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas to uphold the safety and security of residents and the premises.
  • Actively participate in monthly staff meetings and any required training sessions.
What We Look For:
  • Previous experience working with homeless individuals, families, or other vulnerable populations is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle crises with sound judgment, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are highly preferred.
  • Physical capability to occasionally ascend/descend stairs, move equipment weighing up to 5-20 lbs., and remain stationary for extended periods.
