Avionics Design Engineer

Astrolab is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Design Engineer to take full ownership of harness design, guiding it from initial concept and component selection through production, qualification, and integration within our rovers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop the electro-mechanical design of wire harnesses within our family of planetary rovers
  • Create harness design solutions within a 3D NX CAD environment, managing technical trade studies to meet stakeholder objectives and adhere to internal design standards and requirements
  • Generate electrical schematics to support both flight and qualification designs

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with wire harness 3D design, installation drawings, and formboard creation, as well as wiring diagrams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Proficiency with CAD and FEA software packages, particularly Siemens NX and Teamcenter
