Mission Critical Systems Developer

Overview

SpaceX is seeking a highly skilled Mission Critical Systems Developer to join our GNC team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for deploying, upgrading, operating, and scaling a suite of mission-critical GNC products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and upgrade custom-built mission-critical products for Guidance Navigational and Control (GNC)
  • Collaborate with the GNC team to maintain and improve GNC-focused tools
  • Work with the SpaceX HPC team to monitor and maintain a 4000+ thread HPC cluster
  • Develop and improve GNC webapps and tools for better usability, maintainability, and robustness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems/IT, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 2+ years of software development experience or 4+ years of professional experience building software with site reliability or DevOps
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and Python and Python-based development frameworks
  • Strong understanding of virtualization and hypervisor technologies, databases, and data modeling
  • Ability to work with mission-critical and sensitive systems with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities
